How does CBD Oil help schizophrenia? The mind is a tricky thing. We can put a man on the moon, we can explore the depths of the ocean, but we can’t fully understand how our brain—something every human possesses and uses every day—functions.

While we don’t fully understand how our mind works, we do have a general understanding of schizophrenia and how to use CBD oil to reduce its impact on our lives, thanks to a 2011 study published in Life Sciences.

How Does CBD Oil Help Schizophrenia

In this study, researchers discovered that CBD oil helps the body transmit dopamine—a critical neurotransmitter—correctly. Scientists have found that people who suffer from Schizophrenia typically have low levels of dopamine due to disruptions in the mesolimbic pathway—the path that dopamine travels in the body.

CBD oil helps to remove these disruptions that get in the way of dopamine—balancing out the neurotransmitters and getting the brain back in normal working order. The ideal amount of CBD oil to get these beneficial effects is 20mg per kilogram of body weight.

While there is still much to learn about the brain, scientists are continually finding new ways that CBD oil can help keep you healthy.
